Meghamala completed her Bachelor of Technology in Instrumentation Engineering from Vidyasagar University, India, and secured her Master of Technology in Instrumentation and Control Engineering from the University of Calcutta, India. She has worked as a lecturer at Murshidabad College of Engineering and Technology, WBUT University, India, and most recently was an Assistant Professor Future Institute of Engineering and Management, WBUT University, India.
She now lives in Lynchburg with her family and has joined Central Virginia Community College as an adjunct Instructor for Mechatronics and Engineering.
